How to Install base-files software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

base-files software package provides Debian base system miscellaneous files, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install base-files 

base-files is installed in your system.

Make ensure the base-files package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep base-files *

You will get with base-files package name, version, architecture and description in a table
